I'm Lola. I love technology and food, so I thought I'd combine my love for both in one fun place. Here I'll post photos (and link to recipes) of stuff I try to cook and review good apps that I try on my computer and my phone. <3 Geeky, foodie hobbit goodness! |
Abel & Cole January Marmalade -
I didn’t really cut up the orange as small as I should have, but I did make some pretty good spread. It’s just extra zesty!
My partner and I went to a Sushi Making Class at Suzu! It was a lot of fun and I definitely am going to go back to Suzu for one of their platters. The salmon they gave us to make our Salmon and Avocado rolls with was fantastic.
A bunch of photos from the Holiday Part and Silent Art Auction I helped run for Gendered Intelligence. We raised over £1,200 that evening thanks to a bunch of amazing people!
Butternut Squash, Sweet Potato, and Carrot Soup -
I started in a big pan with garlic and shallots, then added the cut up squash, potato, and carrot. After a bit, I added veggie broth and some ginger. I let it cook for a bit then popped it in a blender, adding some chili powder.
It’s delicious!
Celeriac and Cavolo Nero Soup with Roasted Vegetables -
I may just call it HULK Soup for short! :) Basically I modified this recipe and instead of doing leeks and potato, I did some of my cavolo nero, which made it this AMAZING green colour. :) Add some pesto and feta as well and you’ve got some serious green soup. Then I roasted some potatoes, purple carrots, and orange carrots on the side! I’m extra proud of this soup. It turned out delicious.
I tried a restaurant in South Kensington today called Baity Kitchen because I had a Groupon voucher for it since forever. I got four different types of their salads which included hummus, carrots, pasta with salmon, and tomato and mozzarella (bottom). It was actually really, really good. :) I didn’t finish all of my carrots and hummus though! It was definitely a lot of food pretty healthy as well. Then I went to Hummingbird Bakery, which I love and managed to get the special of the day, Chocolate Malt cupcake (top left). <3 Every time I go to Hummingbird on Wardour I pass by this other amazing dessert type place (top right). I need to go there next time because their desserts look GORGEOUS. <33
Cavolo Nero with Peppers -
I made everything a biiiit on the too oily side by mistake. Sometimes I get a bit worried that things will burn and I add a bit too much oil to it. But, no worries! I loved the Cavolo Nero and I still have some of it left over. It’s going in a soup next time! :)
Happy Halloween! :)
Chocolate Chip Cookies:
I got the recipe for these from my favourite recipe blog Crepes of Wrath. I’ve been using their chocolate chunk recipe for quite a long time, so this time I decided to use the other recipe that required chilling the dough for a little while. The first batch came out a little burnt because my oven was far too hot, but the rest came out quite nicely! :D
Mushrooms, Carrots, and Spinach with Rice:
So it’s not all that fancy, but it looked really good, so I figured I’d post the photos. :) I only regret not having any quorn chicken to go with the rice and veggies!
